We are looking for a Senior Manager, Quality Engineering who would be responsible for maintaining the highest quality standards for Nordson EFD products manufactured at the East Providence, RI and Norwich, CT facilities. They will develop, implement, monitor, and maintain end to end quality assurance systems and production processes that are key to creating high quality & safe products. The individual in this role will make authoritative decisions and recommendations that are conclusive and have a far-reaching impact on the organization. They will set team priorities based on business-level metrics and strategic plans for high volume injection molded products and high mix electro-mechanical products.

How YOU will make an impact:

  • Provide leadership to a team of Quality engineers and Quality control supervisors to execute on Nordson EFD's Quality strategy with end-to-end ownership of our supplier quality, in-plant quality and customer quality performance ensuring alignment with our corporate metric.
  • Hire, mentor and provide guidance to the team that cultivates a collaborative and inclusive environment to achieve industry leading quality performance and maintaining a customer centric focus.
  • Develop and apply quality control plans, test and inspection methods, statistical analysis methods, Root cause analysis methods, FMEA's and standardize processes to continuously improve our quality performance.
  • Refine quality data collection systems and implement visual management boards to analyze/track quality performance and prevent escalations.
  • Manage quality escalations with customers.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of industry quality standards and effectively apply quality management system (ISO9001:2015) within the broader organization.
  • Facilitate and lead ISO Audits, internal audits, customer audits & safety audits. Prepare various departments for auditing, collect and report changes that require implementation.


Qualifications To Be Successful:
  • 10 years' QA system implementation and administration experience, preferably on injection molded and electro-mechanical products in a ISO9000 manufacturing setting with 5 years of people management experience.
  • Strong Analytical skills, understanding of quality tools (control charts, process capability, MSA, pareto charts etc.) and knowledge of problem-solving methodologies (8D, PDCA etc.).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of advanced lean principles and methods (Lean 6-Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, Rapid Improvement Events) and Advance product quality planning (APQP).
  • Working knowledge of ISO9001 Quality Management system, audit certification preferred.
  • ASQ CMQ/OE, CQE, or CQA certification is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal capabilities, ability to concisely escalate issues and have difficult conversations.
  • The ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and prioritize duties to meet deadlines daily.
  • Bachelors in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical engineering preferred)
