Senior Property Accountant

$85-100k/yearly based on experience SIGN ON BONUS!

Our Real Estate client based in Braintree is seeking an experienced Property Accountant to join their team reporting to the Controller.

This position will oversee all accounting and financial reporting for 10-15 properties, this is an excellent opportunity to run your own book of business. This position will require more than 40 hours/week during tax and audit season, which will allow for Fridays

Requirements:

• Bachelors or Associates Degree in Accounting/Finance or related business required
• 5+ years full cycle Accounting in Property, or Real Estate Required
• General Ledger, Account Reconciliation, Accruals, High volume full cycle accounts payable required
• Experience managing portfolio of 10+ properties
• Yardi, Advanced Excel required
• Audit and Tax preparation and compliance required

What You'll Do:

• Record monthly financial data including rents, losses/gains, and vacancies.
• Conduct monthly account reconciliations and update analytical schedules promptly.
• Ensure timely payments for mortgages and real estate taxes.
• Create and maintain payables and journal entries for each property.
• Analyze and record monthly accrued expenses when necessary.
• Review and analyze monthly general ledger activity, resolving discrepancies as needed.
• Prepare and submit periodic reporting packages to lenders and investors.
• Prepare year-end audit workpapers and manage the audit process for the portfolio.
• Support property management in annual budget preparation for non-operational expenses.
