Securitas Technology is seeking technically minded individuals possessing experience with low voltage electronics specializing in electronic security solutions. Our teams are responsible for providing service on Securitas Technology products at customer sites. The position provides customer contact for all post-installation problems on security systems and equipment, as well as, special project work, when needed.

Responsibilities

  • . Experience in fire & security system installation.
    2. Test and repair alarm systems already in place

    3. Perform inspections to ensure alarms are installed according to code

    4. Respond to emergency service calls

    5. Install equipment for fire alarm systems with the guidance of building plans and electrical layouts

    6. Mount devices at appropriate locations, performing all necessary tasks, such as drilling holes for cabling and accessing locations such as crawlspaces or attics to ensure optimal wiring layouts

    7. Install all wiring to connect system components, complying with all applicable safety standards and with customer's concerns or preferences

    8. Inspect and test systems to ensure all components are performing well and comply with safety requirements

    9. Identify and repair malfunctions in system components or wiring, including identifying and installing replacement parts as necessary

    10. Compose and submit documentation and reports for each installation or repair visit, complying with company's standard operating procedure

    Competencies

    •• Test backup batteries, keypad programming, sirens, and all security features in order to ensure proper functioning, and to diagnose malfunctions.

    Preferred - 2 years of intermediate experience with cable installing, electrical work, access control installation, intrusion detection, and/or video surveillance installation

    2. Strong customer service orientation

    3. NICET level II certification preferred (requires prior experience or training)

    4. Knowledge of NFPA standards a plus (including 70 and 72)

    5. Energetic, self-starter with a positive attitude

    • Troubleshoot and diagnose security system problems on Fire Alarm Systems and Communications Systems
      • 2+ years of experience in security systems installation, maintenance, and repair.
      • Strong understanding of security systems.
      • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
        • Support complete system diagnostics and troubleshooting including field devices and their connections.
        • Test and troubleshoot installed systems to ensure proper functionality.
        • Skilled in trouble shooting intrusion, fire alarm, cameras, and access control systems.
