Job Responsibilities:

Position Summary:The Wegmans School of Nursing is seeking two 9-month, on-campus dynamic and dedicated Simulation Center Instructor/Coordinators- one for undergraduate education and one graduate education. The ideal candidates will be responsible for supporting the educational needs of nursing students and faculty through instructional support and effective management of simulated learning. This role requires a commitment to teaching excellence, active engagement in research and scholarship, and participation in service activities within the school, university, and broader nursing community.Job Responsibilities:· Teach graduate and/or undergraduate students in the simulation center (land based and online).· Participate in curriculum development and plan student learning experiences in achieving desired learning outcomes· Evaluate and recommend new simulation resources and technologies to enhance educational offerings.· Plan, develop, and implement evaluation tools to assess student progress and learning outcomes.· Collaborate with faculty and clinical course coordinators to assist students in meeting clinical objectives.· Assist with clinical supervision of students as appropriate.· Assess the effectiveness of simulation resources and instructional support services through feedback and performance metrics.· Implement improvements based on assessment data to enhance the quality and accessibility of learning resources.· Assist students in seeking out opportunities for clinical growth· Serve as an advisor to an identified group of students· Engage in an active program of research/scholarshipo Stay current with best practices in nursing education, learning resource management, and instructional technologies.o Attend professional development opportunities, conferences, and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge.o Share expertise and new knowledge with colleagues through in-service training and professional development sessions.· Engage in various service activities within the school, University, the profession of nursing, and the community· Maintain clinical and academic expertise· Provide support for acquisition, organization, and maintenance of simulation resources.· Ensure the simulation center is well-stocked, organized, and accessible to students and faculty.· Help coordinate all simulation-based learning activities for the undergraduate and/or graduate students.· Manage and support the implementation of educational technologies and software in the simulation center.· Participate in meetings and other activities that advance the mission and goals of the school and University· Other duties as determined by the Dean and Associate Deans.

Education / Experience:

Education/Experience:Master's degree in Advanced Practice Nursing with recent NP experience acute care or primary care required. Experience running simulations in baccalaureate and graduate nursing education settings.

Competencies / Skills:

Competencies/Skills:· A strong commitment to student-centered instruction· A demonstrated ability and interest to teach effectively in nursing education· Experience in baccalaureate and master's education, and current acute care clinical practice. Medical/Surgical inpatient experience and/or advanced practice clinical experience preferred but not required.· The ability to facilitate highly effective learning environments· Familiarity with principles of teaching, learning, student evaluation, and accreditation.· Proficiency with simulation equipment (manikins, task trainers, videotaping)· Experience in simulation briefing, facilitation, and debriefing.· Demonstrated commitment to the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion· Demonstrated ability and interest in contributing to the growth of the University and developing community relations· The ability to meet deadlines· The ability to use basic IT applications· Coordination, collaboration, negotiation, and advocacy skills.· Collegial and supportive communication skills for effective collaboration with students and clinical instructors

$60,000.00 - $70,500.00 per year
