Job Description: Grading Laborer

As a Skilled Grading Laborer/Pipelayer, you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of tasks to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our projects. This is a physically demanding role that requires individuals to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Key Duties:

• Dumping trucks and ensuring proper disposal of materials.
• Operating machinery, such as a tractor broom, with proficiency and safety.
• Performing tasks such as shoveling, sweeping, and using a wheelbarrow to maintain cleanliness and organization.
• Flexibility to work nights and weekends when required to meet project deadlines.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily complete each key duty. Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Possession of a valid driver's license (preferred).
• Ability to understand work directions and effectively communicate with job site supervisors and fellow employees.

Physical Demands:

The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by grading personnel to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:

• Constant physical effort, including standing for extended periods of time (at least eight hours per day).
• Ability to stoop, bend, and crouch as necessary to perform key duties.
• Occasional work with hands extended overhead while operating power tools or hand tools involved in cleaning.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds individually and up to 90 pounds with assistance.
• Manual dexterity to handle a wheelbarrow and various hand tools.
• Frequent walking on uneven surfaces, including natural ground, in varying weather conditions.
• Safe climbing on and off heavy mobile equipment.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those encountered by grading personnel while performing the essential functions of this job:

• Work is primarily conducted outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Exposure to high levels of noise, commonly found in road construction.
• Exposure to substances commonly found in road construction or near equipment, such as grease, diesel fuel, gasoline, and asphalt.
• Regular proximity to heavy equipment, moving machinery, and traffic.

The posted salary or pay compensation ranges are approximate and dependent on applicable experience and qualifications. Upper ranges are flexible.
