Position: Software Engineer III

Job Location: 860 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086

Duties: Design and develop Walmart's backend Retail Applications and Services of the USA and International markets. Build highly scalable, fault-tolerant, reactive microservices using Java/Scala/Go, Camel, Spring, and RESTful architecture for Walmart Returns platforms. Develop algorithms and data structures, data pipelines, and dashboards to provide 360-degree visibility for Walmart's Returns Ecosystem. Design and develop cloud-native, distributed, high performant, and scalable microservices for Walmart's Supply Chain Ecosystem. Develop and maintain pipelines for customer and vendor communications. Direct root cause analysis of critical business and production issues by reviewing and analyzing information and logs. Detect and mitigate fraud by analyzing data trends and anomalies that occur in the Returns business. Develop business features and software solutions that help optimize the Returns user and system experiences. Perform database tuning, clean-up, and troubleshoot the performance of data storage having petabytes of data. Support Walmart systems and services for any unavailability or performance degradation to ensure uninterrupted services across US and international markets.

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any), or a related field. Position does not require specific years of experience but requires listed skills.

Skills Required: Experience coding in an object-oriented programming language. Experience designing and implementing highly scalable, fault-tolerant microservices in Java. Experience with database management and analytics using AzureSQL and BigQuery tools. Experience building highly performant and optimized business flows and data pipelines using data structures and algorithms. Experience with health monitoring, trends analysis, and anomalies detection using Metric and Analytics tools including Splunk and Grafana. Experience with deployment to production systems, availability maintenance of services, and DevOps using Azure Cloud. Experience designing Async systems to provide distributed and highly performant services using Apache Kafka, JMS, and IBMMQ. Experience debugging and directing root cause analysis using Dynatrace, SQL, and BigQuery. Experience supporting systems by performing data correction, reprocessing failed events, and providing uninterrupted service in case of unavailability using Shell Scripting and Apache Spark. Experience scaling systems in a distributed environment using OneOps, Docker, and Kubernetes. Experience working on push notifications to mobile devices. Experience with messaging gateways. Employer will accept any amount of professional experience with the required skills.

Salary Range: $117,000/year to $234,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
