Responsibilities

  • Serve as a thought leader and vertical market expert in assigned vertical/industry.
    • Profile the total and accessible market for the vertical.
    • Define buyer personas.
    • Build a strong opportunity creation plan.
    • Provide guidance and subject matter expertise to sales and marketing strategies and assets.
  • Develop and manage key relationships necessary to achieving vertical success:
    • Within Baker Tilly
    • With external partners that are key players in the vertical
    • With key current or prospective customers
    • With other vertical subject matter experts and influencers
  • Develop and manage a Vertical Profile and Vertical Growth Strategy, including investment plans and return on investment projections. Develop and propose plans to meet customer needs and grow revenue within the vertical, such as:
    • Developing reseller or referral relationships with industry partners
    • Launching and nurturing high-potential channels for customer lead generation (conference attendance and engagement, content marketing, etc.)
    • Developing strategies for selling Sage Intacct subscriptions to the vertical
    • Identifying customers' needs for new Baker Tilly Digital products that are built on, or integrate with, the Sage Intacct platform, including:
      • Process automation
      • Integrations
      • Business intelligence
      • Outsourced accounting services
  • Lead recurring research and discovery efforts-including through interviews with Baker Tilly internal partners, key external partners, and customers-to:
    • Profile the industry vertical market
    • Develop a robust understanding of the vertical's key business processes, performance indicators, and accounting/ERP software solution gaps.
  • Acting as the "voice of the customer," collaborate with internal teams to move new products through structured design/development, go-to-market, delivery, training, support, and customer success management processes.
    • Work with the Product Design team to create functional/business requirements. Provide feedback on the product at key stages and facilitate engagement with early adopters / MVP customers to gather product feedback.
    • Serve as an early evangelist for new solution offerings, with the goal of transitioning these responsibilities to other team members as those new offerings gain traction with customers.
    • Assist Sales, Sales Engineers, and Marketing with creating, updating, and executing solution demonstrations with clients, prospects, company personnel, and other stakeholders.
    • Review and provide content for marketing material for appropriate terminology and voice of customer.
    • Work with Delivery personnel in integrating with our technology-enabled services and assist with defining training programs focused on specific vertical solutions.
    • Obtain customer testimonials.
  • Lead success measurement/performance reporting and analysis for the vertical.
  • Serve as a highly visible expert for this vertical and Baker Tilly Digital.
    • Represent Baker Tilly Digital and its solutions by attending and presenting at vertical and technology tradeshows, conferences, and other important events.
    • Provide important subject matter expertise to support the development of marketing, sales, and customer success content.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Ten-plus years of experience within the healthcare vertical
  • Experience, either through a consulting role or as a user, working with healthcare accounting processes and associated ERP systems
  • Experience with technology implementations and/or leveraging technology for process automation and transformation preferred
  • Experience in interacting with others (clients, industry thought leaders, vendors) and an interest in proactively engaging and communicating with such key stakeholders both internal and external to Baker Tilly
  • Have a passion for the intersection of accounting, process, and technology.
  • Must be a team player and able to effectively interact with team members at all levels of the firm
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities simultaneously and meeting deadlines
  • Willing to work nontraditional business hours should the workload necessitate
  • Ability to travel as needed
