Job Description

  • Speech and Language Pathologists for Homewood, IL location.
  • Plan, conduct, and evaluate programs designed to improve patients' communication skills.
  • Assess patients with communication problems and dysphagia of neurogenic origin, develop treatment programs, and modify treatment in accordance with patient progress.
  • Review charts, interview patient/family, consult with physicians, audiologists, and other clinical professionals in order to evaluate patients' conditions.
  • Counsel patients and family members regarding communication deficits and instruct them in proper management techniques.
  • Monitor patient progress, re-establish goals, revise treatment, and alert physicians to changes in the patients' conditions.
  • Evaluate current pain levels and history of recent pain experience; provide appropriate pain education and intervention in consultation with physician and pain specialists; and provide ongoing assessment of pain and implementation of tools for management.
  • Maintain clinical records, including written diagnostic reports, progress reports, discharge summaries, re-evaluations, and rechecks, summarizing family and professional contact, and logging daily statistics and other clinical data.

Required Skills

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.

Requirements: Speech language pathology clinical competence certificate from American Speech-Language-Hearing Association required; Illinois Speech-Language Pathologist license or temporary license required; CPR certification required.
