Job Description Summary
As Sr. Analyst, Commercial Operations, you will provide support to the offer development process for Enterprise deals across multiple US Business Segments and ongoing support of the US Region Contract and Pricing Council. This role will support US Region policies, processes and governance to ensure the effective implementation of complex, critical contract activities which manage business opportunities and risk appropriately. This position will support ad-hoc analytics reporting for BU, Management and Commercial Integration as required. This is an individual contributor role that will work closely with Strategic Customer Group, Commercial Integration, Business, Sales Leaders, and other Commercial Operations functional and Cross-functional Business Partners and will serve as a catalyst to drive best in class contract operations and analytics.

What Commercial Operations Contributes to BD:

The mission of the CoE is to enable commercial strategy and drive profitable sales growth by shifting our mindset to being more "front office", by exceeding customer needs and improving customer experience in the areas of contracting, sales operations, business analytics and operational excellence.

This will be accomplished by standardizing, automating and integrating (CoE approach) as one company, driving data integrity and remaining agile to the evolving needs of customers and BD's Go-to-Market corporate and BU strategies.

The Center of Excellence (CoE) team will embrace industry leading capabilities, develop our talent and know- how, hold ourselves accountable to strong performance and operate by the highest values and culture of the company.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the proper evaluation and interpretation of Corporate BDX Agreements to ensure payments are made accurately and timely per the terms and conditions of the contracts
  • Ensure timely execution of rebate payments and provide clear and open communication to team members, customers and account representatives
  • Possess strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate reports
  • Work cross functionally with internal customers in Offer Development, Commercial Integrators, Sales team, BU, Accounts Payable and SCG to provide review and resolution of contract eligibility or rebate issues
  • Responsible for the analysis and resolution of disputed rebates.
  • Develop variance analysis reporting to identify material fluctuations in sales at the customer and/or material level to understand drivers and ensure data is accurate and payment of fees is appropriate
  • Collaborate with Offer development team to initiate business process continuous improvement activities, conduct root cause analysis, determine error prevention solutions, and validate previous or current payments
  • Provide Ad-hoc reporting to key business partners and sales team.
  • Act as mentor to guide and develop junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth
  • Lead and implement CI initiatives for the team with the ability to enhance operational efficiencies and productivity


About You:
  • Minimum BA/BS required in Finance, Accounting or other business-related fields or 10+ years of related experience
  • Minimum 4-6 years demonstrated analysis experience in Contracts Operations
  • Understanding of commercial contract development and management
  • Ability to act with speed, agility and accountability to drive desirable outcomes
  • Ability to work in a evolving organization undergoing significant change
  • Highly analytical problem solver with solid business acumen
  • Ability to engage with key business partners to evaluate key drivers and analytics to assist in development of clear strategic recommendations and anticipate business needs
  • Ability to articulate complex concepts and solutions in a clear, understandable way
  • Advanced working knowledge in Excel, Database (i.e. Access, SQL, Oracle) & Data Mining tools
  • Proficient in Microsoft Power BI
  • Data mining experience is preferred
  • 5-7 years demonstrated experience and understanding of Medical Device Consumables products and services preferred
