Job Description:

JOB OVERVIEW

The Sr Subrogation Specialist provides auto claim subrogation recovery for Wheels clients on the Collision Management program. Tasks will include all aspects of First Notice of Loss notifications and 3rd party auto damage recoveries. As a Subrogationist, methods for recoveries will include negotiating with carriers, uninsured motorist direct collections, outsourcing to collection agencies, claim submission to arbitration and assisting with legal action.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Analyze and edit loss report folders to determine subrogation feasibility and establish common coding as specified by client parameters.
  • Negotiate and conclude subrogation attempts. Maintain a timely diary of all pending files.
  • Demonstrate & apply knowledge of insurance/subrogation industry trends and update management as needed.
  • Demonstrate & apply knowledge related to the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico for subrogation and insurance collection standards.
  • Administer claims in accordance with client profiles. Prepare arbitration contentions.
  • Consult, assist, and support, Subrogation staff in all aspects of daily operations.
  • Perform duties to meet Key Performance indicators.
  • Consult claim administration staff in all aspects of daily operations.
  • Assist and instruct drivers in rental, tow, and process needs as encountered.
  • Other duties as assigned.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assists new hires and mentors - position does not have direct reports.

COMPETENCIES - SKILLS
  • Strong Negotiation skills
  • Ability to reason and determine when it is economically feasible to take next steps related to file which may include Arbitration, litigation or closing files.
  • Must be organized and possess time management skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Five (5) years Auto / Liability or Subrogation industry experience
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in customer service.
  • PC familiarity, including, but not limited to Windows.
  • Certified Subrogation Recovery Specialist CSRP Certified by the NASP National Association of Subrogation Professionals organization.
  • ACLS Automotive Claims Law Specialist designation by the American Educational Institute or comparable
  • American Educational Institute AEI Courses completed
  • High School Diploma Required
  • Law of Damages
  • Law of Subrogation
  • Current Arbitrator: must successfully pass courses to become an Arbitrator and hear cases as directed by management

JOB SPECIFICATIONS, PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work Environment: This position is remote once the Specialist can show competence in systems and processes. Training completed in the Illinois office.
Position Type/Standard Schedule: This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday.
Travel: Minimal travel may be required to meet with client or vendors (less than 10%). Travel may be required for initial onboarding and training.
Physical Demands: Speak, hear, and see, and to use hand and fingers for computer keyboard and phone. Sit or stand for extended periods of time. Reach above head to pull paper attachments.

Pay Range:
$49,900-$69,800
The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is eligible to participate in the annual incentive plan which is based on company performance and individual performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience, education, certifications, skill level and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed here.
