Your Role:

Eight years ago, MilliporeSigma acquired Sigma-Aldrich and with it, an industry-leading eCommerce platform. In the years since then, the combined organization has created a multi-billion euro/dollar, award-winning ecommerce business. As part of our Digital &eCommerce (D&eC) strategy and change team, you will play a pivotal role in formulating and driving the strategy for the Digital & eCommerce (D&eC) organization. This role requires a dynamic, strategic thinker with a deep understanding of digital commerce, competitive insights, and emerging customer dynamics. The Strategy Manager will work across functions to ensure alignment and successful execution of the Digital &eCommerce (D&eC) strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the formulation of the Digital & eCommerce strategy, leveraging customer and competitive insights, eCommerce best practice trends, and business analytics.
  • Anticipate and identify how changes in other parts of the Life Science organization will impact D&eC and advise on strategy adaptation.
  • Collaborate with functional leaders (e.g., Digital Marketing, Digital Category Management, Technology Solutions, Data and Analytics, B2B etc.) and product teams to create robust functional strategies, including a 3-year roadmap, investment needs, and business cases.
  • Manage strategic planning and collaborate with teammates on Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), resource planning and allocation, as well as strategy communication.
  • Enable the operationalization of our strategy by managing strategic planning and collaborating with teammates on Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), resource planning and allocation, as well as strategy communication.
  • Work with the portfolio manager to bring product and project value tracking and realization into the strategy and planning discussions.
  • Lead the preparation of internal and external communications to create alignment, engagement, and collaboration, including presentations for various meetings and stakeholders within the organization.
  • Ensure transparent communication across the D&eC organization and relevant stakeholders within the Life Science organization to demonstrate the impact of the team's work on customers and business.
  • Facilitate aspects of the Digital & eCommerce Leadership Team, Managers and SteerCo meetings and meeting preparation.

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, information technology or a related field.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Proven experience in formulating business strategies in a complex organizational environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to frame business problems, consolidate insights and synthesize diverse facts, opinions, and materials to help formulate strategies and strategic projects.
  • Proven track record in project management, with a focus on strategy development.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation abilities

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in consulting or related roles such as market research, strategic marketing is an advantage.
  • Experience with digital commerce, customer, and competitive insights.
  • Knowledge and expertise in agile methodologies
  • Strong leadership potential and ability to influence and motivate cross-functional teams

This role may be based at the Burlington, MA; St. Louis, MO or Darmstadt, Germany site with potential travel to other company locations as needed.
