Job Summary
Compliance and Audit Management:. Ensures WAG compliance with new licensing requirements and licensing renewal calendar.. May lead internal and external audits. Process Management:. Researches and determines applicable rules and regulations within each state, county and city Licensing jurisdiction affecting the operations of company units and facilitates processing of Pharmacy, DEA, Business and other licenses.. Analyzes and translates applicable jurisdiction rules, regulations and business practices in order to complete the licensing requirements for the different Walgreens business units.. Assists the preparation and filing of Pharmacy, DEA, Business and other licenses to insure the licenses are filed timely, accurately, and completely with the SP. Contacts other Walgreen departments as needed to coordinate the license application deliverables they are required to contribute.. Responds to jurisdictional changes in process procedures and documents for internal purposes. Client Relationship Management:. Interfaces with all Business units and other Corporate departments to understand specific business requirements and collaborates to ensure those requirement are met.. Interfaces with licensing jurisdictions to address compliance issues or to clarify licensing requirements.

- Researches and determines applicable rules and regulations within each state, county and city taxing jurisdiction affecting the operations of company units and facilitates processing of Pharmacy, DEA, Business and other licenses.
- Analyzes and translates applicable jurisdiction rules, regulations and business practices in order to complete the licensing requirements for the different Walgreens business units.
- Assists the preparation and filing of Pharmacy, DEA, Business and other licenses to insure the licenses are filed timely, accurately, and completely with the SP. Contacts other Walgreen departments as needed to coordinate the license application deliverables they are required to contribute. Responds to jurisdictional changes in process procedures and documents for internal purposes.
- Contacts Pharmacy Boards and other licensing agency personnel to address compliance issues or to clarify licensing requirements. Handles escalated issues from Licensing Specialists.
- Meets regularly with various Walgreen Departments (e.g. Corp and Regulatory Law, Mergers and Acquisitions, Store Operations, Specialty Pharmacy etc....) to develop action plans to address license communication requirements, resolve compliance issues and identify licensing strategies to support company initiatives.
- Maintains the License Automation System working with Corporate IT and/or Tax Systems to make modifications to the system as required.
- After companies are acquired, develops and implement processes with acquired companies' management to transition their licensing function over to the corporate licensing function.
- Reviews license applications and approves license payments requests as required. Approves the credit card payment reconciliation prepared by the SP.
- Interfaces with all Business units and other Corporate departments to understand specific business requirements and collaborates to ensure those requirement are met. Reviews status logs of critical or escalated issues to ensure decisions are made within defined action plans. Maintains operational excellence with service provider utilizing continuous improvement, performance metrics and process flows. Monitors SLAs and provides feedback. Fosters teaming & collaboration with service provider staff. Co-ordinates with the service provider to answer process questions and rapidly resolve operational escalations. Trains service provider staff on the processes

External Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and at least at least 1 year of experience reviewing, analyzing and adhering to various legal and compliance programs and regulations OR High School Diploma/GED and at least 4 years of licensing experience.
- At least one year of experience with licensing rules and regulations and in reading and interpreting general business, technical documents and government regulations.
- Experience with Processing Business Related Forms (i.e. mortgage documents, insurance forms).
- Experience communicating both verbally (on phone, one-on-one) and in writing (emails, letters) to various audiences (work group, team, company management, external licensing agencies).
- Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Office 2003 or later: Word (for example: creating and modifying text styles, numbering and sorting lists, working with sections and columns, formatting tables, and using templates and using diagrams and drawing tools) and Excel (for example: formatting text and borders of cells, working with workbooks and worksheets, using range names, referencing cells, sorting, and auto filtering).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and at least at least 5 years of experience reviewing, analyzing and adhering to various legal and compliance programs and regulations. OR a high school diploma/GED and at least 4 years of licensing experience.
- At least two years of experience with licensing rules and regulations and in reading and interpreting general business, technical documents and government regulations.
- Experience in coaching, mentoring, and training staff preferred.
- Experience in the indirect management of team members, including assisting in the development, training and assignment of work/projects to other members of a team preferred.
