Description
The University of Chicago's Department of Medicine, Section of Nephrology, is searching for full-time faculty members at any rank to join an established group of nationally known nephrologists and transplant nephrologists. Appointees will participate in all clinical aspects of the multidisciplinary kidney transplant program including the evaluation and management of transplant candidates and living donors, help with building the outreach aspects of the kidney and pancreas transplant program, provide post-transplant care and supervision as appropriate, fulfill inpatient and outpatient responsibilities for transplant recipients and living donors, and maintain a productive clinical portfolio. Appointees will perform outpatient procedures, continuous and intermittent dialysis procedures, and transplant kidney biopsies.
Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications.
Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate (MD) or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, and 3) have satisfied the United Network for Organ Sharing requirements for designation as a primary kidney transplant physician, either through completion of a fellowship in transplant nephrology or through clinical experience.
We especially welcome applicants who will complement and/or expand the clinical interests of the faculty and contribute to the Transplant Institute's educational and clinical missions. Assessment of applications will consider experience in clinical nephrology and kidney transplantation.
To be considered, those interested must apply through The University of Chicago's Academic Recruitment job board, which uses Interfolio to accept applications: http://apply.interfolio.com/160841.
