Reporting to the SVP Finance, the VP of FP&A collaborates with the business leaders to monitor financial performance for the US Division. This role oversees strategic plans, budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis to facilitate decision-making and to meet the businesses' strategic targets.
How you will make contributions that matter
- Provide strategic and operational business partnering to divisional leaders to drive accountability and deliver results.
- Understand business activities, priorities, and strategy to seek out value opportunities.
- Build strong relationships with the business to collaborate, gain-buy-in and to deliver results.
- Conduct root cause analysis of financial variances between expected, or planned, performance and actual performance.
- Support continuous improvement by leveraging insights from trends, forecasting approaches or other financial indicators.
- Coordinate with other areas of finance to drive decisions and solutions. Leverage the Finance team capabilities by involving the colleagues with the right expertise at the right time.
- Identifies and analyzes the design of jobs, work processes, workflows, etc. for the area and implements appropriate changes to improve effectiveness, efficiency and productivity that support the overall goals of the department.
- Leads and drives a customer focused culture in finance to deepen relationships with client groups.
- Lead finance organization initiatives, including AI investments to drive process improvements.
- Build data science capabilities to provide insights, reduce risks, and increase efficiencies.
- Prepare and present Corporate Monthly Reports including and not limited to EBITDA and revenues.
- Lead the budgeting process, coordinating the activities among the finance leaders and doing the consolidation of the information with accuracy and efficiency.
- Weekly Forecast and report of division-wide sales volume. Variation analysis against budget and forecasts
- Margin analysis of certain identified products or family groups that require follow up and potential action
- Leading and coordinating policy updates.
- Prepare, develop and present Business cases for Large Capital projects.
You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. An advanced degree or professional qualifications is a plus.
- 10 + years of Finance leadership experience
- Proven experience as a VP FP&A or in a financial leadership role within the manufacturing sector. In-depth knowledge of manufacturing financial regulations, cost accounting, and industry-specific financial management best practices. Deep understanding of capital-intensive business models and related ROI frameworks.
- Proven experience in a Risk Management role. Experience in commodity markets and derivative is a plus.
- Proven experience as a forward-looking VP FP&A that can help design/execute growth plans. Able to use data driven financial insights to inform business strategy and decisions.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to work effectively at all levels and across all organizational lines. Highly strategic but also willing to operate tactically with a high sense of urgency and execution speed when required.
- Experience operating in an environment where Finance acts as a valued business partner, with deep knowledge of the business, its strategies and its execution.
- Must have the ability to quickly assimilate into the culture of the Company and work effectively as a business partner with the entire senior management team.
- Experience developing effective teams and building best-in-class organizations. An eye for talent and an inclination to invest in others.
- Must be forward thinking and open and receptive to new ideas. S/he is someone who thrives in an environment of continuous improvement.
- The VP FP&A must be a decisive leader and have the ability to prioritize effectively and focus on the most relevant issues.
- The candidate must understand the levers on both the operational (strong detail orientation) and customer / commercial side of the business that leads to creation of value within the company. He/she must have a track record of having built outstanding and effective relationships with business leaders across the enterprise with strong credibility both internally and externally.
- Know how to effectively identify, analyze, and recommend solutions to complex problems.
- Detail oriented, thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, and work effectively and collaboratively across various departments to meet goals and deadlines.
- Advanced skills with MS Excel, PowerPoint
- Knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Power BI, an asset
- Experience implementing and applying artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities in the financial space is a plus.
