Business Process and Accountability Support Specialist

Location: Pecan

General Statement of Job:
The Business Process and Accountability Support Specialist performs advanced administrative work and provides operational support to all core areas and functions within the department.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide advanced administrative and business operational analysis research to the Director for Business Process and Accountability.
  2. Performs a wide range of tasks and assignments to support highly technical operations of the department including, but not limited to, business operations analysis, policy, and procedure assessments.
  3. Support project and change management methodologies and activities.
  4. Support and facilitate the initiation and completion of projects including, but not limited to tracking, communication, planning, and follow-up.
  5. Assist in performing and completing process improvement projects including, but not limited to, diagnosing process challenges, identifying gaps, reducing errors, identifying opportunities for improvement, developing action plans, testing recommendations, and executing improvement strategies.
  6. Facilitate and/or monitor multiple tasks and projects. Prepare routine project summary reports/memos for leadership review.
  7. Use various software applications, such as spreadsheets, relational databases, and graphs, to modify and/or format data and/or reports.
  8. Exercise sound judgment in the referral of inquiries to appropriate staff.
  9. Solve problems, address concerns, and plan with great attention given to customer service, project quality, and exact detail.
  10. Support key personnel in the process of data collection, analysis, and process improvement.
  11. Assist in preparing and delivering presentations.
  12. Plan, develop, and organize, event functions for the Business Process and Accountability department, including meetings, and special functions, as assigned.
  13. Monitor and update the Business Process and Accountability website.
  14. Performs other duties as assigned.


Required Education and Experience:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required.
  2. At least three (3) years of related experience combined in project and change management, process improvement, audit, or operation management is required.
  3. Experience in a higher education institution preferred.

  1. All applicants are subject to a criminal background check under South Texas College policy.
  2. Security Sensitive position: In addition, subject to federal background check.
  3. Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and proof of liability insurance.
